I had a Netgear router that really was a pain in the toucas. I could never get the thing set up as it should be and the IP address that was supposed to be able to get you to the router page was different than the paperwork said it should be. So I'm looking for an alternative. Can someone recommend a good brand of wireless router?
I use the Fritz box. It's a wireless router with VOIP facility. You can also connect your printer to the network through a USB. (in fact almost anything with a USB.) They are quite expensive compared to normal wireless routers but I guess that depends on your needs. Here is a link: http://www.fritzbox.eu/en/products/index.php Most standard routers internal IP Address is 192.168.1.1
Thanks EJB. I'll look into that. I have been told by some friends that for a good basic wireless router, a linksys router is good. I have found some at a great price on the internet but I want to make sure I get something I can use and will last.
I have a Belkin N router that I got about 4 years ago. It is probably obsolete by now, but it still works perfectly. I have great speeds and coverage all around the house. When I upgrade I plan to go Belkin again. The only thing I don't love is their customer service. Their 800 number is farmed to India. Nothing against India just that I can't understand the accent and sometimes they don't understand mine.
