We like small trips because we are generally quite spontaneous. We've never taken a large trip at all, I think we might in a couple years when the kids are older. I would love to see Disneyland and Nashville.
Well, since my husband is a truck driver, we don't take trips at all! Its a bit different for us though. We're perfectly happy spending time together watching TV for hubby's vacation. Now come the holidays, we might take a short trip to visit my parents for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but that is different. Right?
We usually take a week long beach vacation during the summer and then will do a few smaller trips in other seasons. We travel to see family all over the US, so that is always fun.
I like to take many small trips through the year. It is always nice to be able to look forward to a trip that is near. If I took one large trip and spent all the money on that I would have to wait a whole year.
I think it's sad when you see workaholics who say they'll travel when they retire, but never do if they die before retirement age. As for me, I like taking several small trips out of the year because I'd rather look forward to a short vacation coming soon than a longer vacation coming up six months from now.
