I currently use Avast Home Edition, it's freeware and has pretty good success rate. I have used Trend Micro & Norton in the past, and those are pretty decent too.

    What about you?

I have used many paid and free and to be honest have found the best to be Microsoft Security Essentials which I am currently using. The good news is that is free providing you are using an operating system.

Norton is good but slows your computer down and it's not free.

Yeah Norton's not free, I just meant Avast was. But you are correct about it slowing down your computer, it's been so long I forgot that Norton took up so much memory.

It is the well known fact that the modern Internet is full of different threats for the computers and the data bases. I am the user of NOD32 and I am considering that it is one of the best softwares of today. But which antivirus software do you use?

I am currently using Mcafee anti Virus. It has been good up until now but soon up for renewal. There seems to be so many companies out there it is hard to know which won is the best.

I use ESET NOD32 anti virus. So far I am satisfied with its performance and I don't have any problems with it. It quickly detects viruses and worms and deletes and cleans my computer.

I am using Norton, it works well. I didn't realize it was a memory-eater...

How do you get Microsoft Security Essentials, just download it from Microsoft's site? I am using Windows 7 operating system.

Yeah, just google it. I just added it to my brothers computer for him, the other day! It's pretty good, I am probably going to put it on my PC as well.

I use Norton, and it is only free because my internet company included it with sign-up. I've never had any problems with it, but yeah, it does take up a lot of room.

I also use NOD32. It is not so popular as Norton and McAfee, but I really love it. It works fast and doesn't have too many features that I don't really need (as Norton does).
