"You recorded my live stream? I am reporting your agency to the artists that I support. You're illegally obtaining their content!"

 

The chances of youtube and live broadcasting users having permission from these artists is next to none. If anything, artists allow it, because it's like free publicity

I guess it just depends on where the shoutcast is hosted.

As long as people don't have a way to find out that your content isn't illegally downloaded it doesn't matter what music you play, you can just say you purchased it ;D

 

And it's not like we're going to get 50000 listeners daily sort of thing, so we don't really need to worry about streaming laws with music; although, it would be good to follow them.

Audio disclaimers do get rather annoying, and you would have to play them repeatedly through out the show; they are not needed! You just need a clear paragraph stating that the owners of Failscene are not responsible for the content played by the DJs and that there may be explicit language through out the show.

You don't have to assure people on that, no radio that I've worked at ever has and we got along just fine :)

 

Just make sure it mentions that the owners don't control what content the DJs stream and there may be explicit language throughout the show

Might as well add it in, it's only an extra sentence and it could save us a lot of hassle if we ever got confronted about it.

This is why I'd prefer to have it on a separate page (also) rather than integrated into the forum. The forum will get fairly cluttered in my eyes, with players, radio stats, and disclaimers everywhere. I don't see any apparant space for this.

Personally I hate pop-ups, regardless of what they are. I find it most appropriate to have a mini-site dedicated to the radio on radio.failscene.com. This would include the radio player, a request line, time table etc.

Don't play anything with a shit load of racism though, we swear on the forum, and if they found out about the radio they clearly visited the forum first.
