Updates on the radio

Just felt the need to inform you all about the current status of the radio.

As you all know, I'll be paying the first installment in the radio costs. With the recent happenings of Michael quitting things have become very... unsettled. We now need to accompany a new domain, upgrade the bandwith and then we can begin the use of the radio.

Until this things are complete, work on the radio's system will begin to allow us to swiftly open it.

If you need help with anything regarding the radio and the website I am willing to help, I've DJd on many websites, coded systems for others and owned my own radio websites. Quite a few of the websites I administrated were very well known, receiving up to 1000 listeners at a time

I've begun work on a radio layout. It's gonna be mega basic. Logo, statistics and player. Of course, the player can be shown anywhere on the forum though, or we can even have a popup.

dont put a pop up tho thats pretty annoying, i think maybe just below the top icons (home, bugs & help, chit chat, etc) we could put a slim player, thatd be pretty cool

There isn't room on the main forum to include a player and the radio statistics, it would slow loading down for the main forum and make it look cluttered; also people don't want the radio loading as soon as the forum loads. I for one, know that I won't listen to the radio all the time when I'm on the forums, and it would get annoying having to stop the player every time I visit the home page.

 

Anyway, I've seen the development with the site for the radio and it's coming along nicely; it's simple but does the job. Also, the radio that we currently have is with a very reliable host (I know both the owners of the company, and I know that they are both reliable/trustworthy) and has good stats for the price we paid :)

I tested the Radio this evening with Jordan. I don't know the limits of it, but a 256k stream sounded great. Doing some more testing if someone would want to help me out :3

 

After some tests, We've concluded that:

 

1) I'm awesome

2) My music taste is awesome

3) The radio works in an awesome manner

4) I'm awesome

Excellent. Jordan managed to get that extra DB, so gimme a couple hours to hookup the radio panel, and we'll be blazing along. :D

Aight, I've managed to get in contact with the guy who made the radio panel we'll be using and he has agreed to help me intergrate it into the site. This hopefully means we can start taking on some DJ's at let the DJ'ing begin!
